In all honesty, it’s the last few weeks at Swimcrest. Good things are happening.
Some learned to be buoyant and let go of their fears about the water.
An 8-year-old swam across the 25-yard pool for the very first time.
So did this incredible 47-year-old.
This swimmer took 8 strokes off of her 25-yard freestyle.
And this one got the sillies out.
This one swam back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.
And so did his dad.
I trained for my upcoming Lake Zurich 15-miler with a long, long, long swim. I placed a ring on the pool deck every time I finished 1000 yards.
And yes, it was a lot of flip turns.
And my mom, 68-years-old and never a swimmer, never a put-your-face-in-the-water person, and never water confident Learned to Swim.
So proud of them all.
