A lot of activity this past few weeks. First, Swimcrest took it on the road, with a field trip to Lake LBJ in Texas, AKA where my in-laws live.
Open water swimming at 75 degrees? Sure. I’ll take it! Because as we New Englanders know, that is NOT happening here for a good long while.
What’s better than walking down from the house and getting right in the water? Not much, friends. Not much.
Then, it was back to lessons and, um, some silliness. Because that is always important here.
It was also time to get this Father/Daughter pair ready for triathlon season, this 15-year-old girl’s first. And she is swimming so darn well! It’s a pleasure to watch her.
Of course, since the season is well underway in terms of my own training, I have to get serious. 13000 yards, represented by a ring for every 1000 yards completed. And, ahem, that’s less than half of what I will be doing when I get to Switzerland in August for the 15-Mile Lake Zurich Marathon Swim.
For other students, some ring diving as warm-up for their 200 IM practice. (Yikes! A 200 IM? I’d rather swim 1000 straight than that. But, um, should I not admit that??)
Still others are busy training for the Mashpee Super Swim, coming SOON! Can’t wait to see Swimcrest well represented this year.
Thank you all for inspiring and motivating me every single day!
