Hello my lovely swim friends. Have I told you lately that I miss you?
As we all make our way through this period of anxiety and unknowns, I hope that you are well, that you are healthy, and that we are back together soon.
While I had hoped that we might be back by the end of April, it is clear that we need to take some additional dryland time. Currently, my plan is to reopen based upon recommendations of Governor Baker, and while we do not have a date for that yet, I expect that we are down until at least the beginning or middle of May. I will keep you posted and check in as we have more updates from the state government.
I’ve been busy scrubbing windows, and the pool deck, and cleaning everything I can reach so that when you return, it will be sparkly as delightful as ever.
When we resume, there will be some additional rules in the interest of keep us safe and healthy.
- All swimmers will be required to wash their hands, and to shower, with soap and water, before entering the pool.
- Caps must be worn by all swimmers, regardless of hair length, unless you are bald. (This keeps our filter system cleaner and much easier to scrub.)
- There will be no goggles or caps available to be borrowed. Please make sure that you have your gear with you when you come to swim as I do not want to run the risk of virus transmission by sharing equipment. For those who would like recommendations about what equipment to purchase, please be in touch.
I encourage all of you to reach out if you are feeling adrift as we take this time away. I am here to talk swimming, or other things, as you need, and I miss our conversations and watching you swim and the time spent together. I am so thankful and proud of the little community we’ve built at Swimcrest.
Be well, and I will see you soon.
Love, Sydne
