Hello my lovely swimmers!
As of today, Sunday, the 15th of March, Swimcrest will be closed for one week, through, at least, Sunday the 22nd.
It has been determined that pools are relatively safe environments in terms of the water itself, but the concern is with locker room and changing areas, as well as the in-and-out which requires, as you know, touching doors, etc.
During the coming week, I will be conducting a deep cleaning of the entire facility. (Honestly, it’s long past time and this presents an excellent opportunity for me to do all of those things I’ve been putting off!)
Next week, when we have more information, I will reassess and determine whether or not it feels safe to reopen.
When I reopen the facility, please be aware that I will be using cleaning chemicals in the pool. (Specifically, we will be adding bromine to the system.) This will help to keep the water clean and free from that pesky virus.
We will also be cleaning the filters regularly and doing our best to keep everything safe.
As I know you are accustomed to Swimcrest being an almost chemical-free environment, this will probably be a bit of an adjustment. I hope to end the use of chemicals soon, but at this point, it seems best to err on the side of caution.
In addition, I will be introducing various safely protocols to make sure that all of my clients are as protected as possible.
– If you have ANY symptoms of illness, please cancel and stay home, of course without penalty.
– I will be adjusting appointments so that there is a 10-15 minute time gap between sessions, allowing you to come and go without sharing the space.
– Hand washing will be required by each client and door handles, etc., will be wiped down between each client.
– Showers will be off-limits, and I encourage you to arrive in a robe or some other comfortable outfit that will allow you to come and go quickly and easily. The less changing in a shared space, the better.
There will be additional things to consider, but as this is an evolving situation, this is where we are right now.
If it comes up in your various circles, please tell friends who enquire that the pool is not available for private rental. (I have folks coming out of the woodwork since all area pools are closed.)
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. And I will, of course, keep you posted as I have additional information.
Thank you so much for being so understanding. Please take care of yourselves and others this week.
Stay home and stay safe!
Love,
Sydne
